Job 3:15 says “Though He slay me, yet will I trust in him”. That word “trust” means to hope in, wait for, expect.
Our Pastor’s 8 year old daughter went home to be with the Lord this week after a long battle against cancer. Our hearts grieve with this girl’s dear family but the truth is that we do not grieve as the world, who has no hope, grieves. We know we will see this little one again. She is safe in the arms of the Lord, no more pain and no more suffering. This was written on her blog by her family:
“At 2:40am this morning our sweet Daisy went to be with Jesus. She was sleeping and in no pain. Christ is with us as the God of all comfort. We are thankful.
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11:25-26)
Daisy believed this and so do we. More than ever.
The truth is, everyone has pain and suffering in this life. But when you walk with Jesus Christ, He walks through the pain and suffering with you and then miraculously, He brings something good out of it (Romans 8:28). I would rather walk through my pain with the Lord and know that one day, it will all end, than to live this temporal life pain free only to plunge into eternal suffering and darkness. I have a friend who sticks closer than a brother and He never leaves me nor forsakes me. We can all have this kind of friendship through a personal relationship with Jesus. If you haven’t already, call on His Good Name and begin your walk with Him. The Merrick’s know they will have all of eternity to enjoy their precious daughter, granddaughter, sister. Do you know where you are spending eternity?
