Who are you really?

The captive Israelites forgot who they were.  The only dream they had after 400 years of slavery was the hope that “Maybe today I won’t be beaten because they say I work too slow.  Or the wish that my dear daughter could get married and make a happy home for my grandchildren.  Or that my sons will not die under the heavy labor load placed on them by the Egyptians”.   Yes, God had these dreams for them and more.  When God raised up for them a deliverer to lead them into the Promised Land, they did not believe Moses or listen to him “because of their discouragement and cruel bondage” (Exodus 6:9),  They forgot they were the chosen people of God.  They had a dream for themselves way smaller than what God was dreaming for them.  They just wanted to make it through another day.  They wanted to sleep without someone waking them up early to slave away the day under hard labor.  They wanted to see their children not have to work so hard.  These were all very good dreams but they were smaller than what God had in mind for them.  In the promised land, God wanted to give them homes they did not build, and wells they did not dig, and vineyards they did not plant.  Have you ever dug a well?  I haven’t but the Israelites sure had. So when God said He wanted to give them wells they had not dug, that meant  the world to them.  He had a land waiting flowing with milk and honey.  But of course, there were giants living in the land.  There will always be giants to overcome when moving into your promised land.  They just come with the territory.  But don’t let them discourage you.  If God wants you to have it and it’s a dream He placed in you, don’t let anyone rob you of it.  Ten of the twelve spies swindled the whole Israelite community  who were 20 years and older of their promised land.  Are you going to let a nay-sayer rob you?

“Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work WITHIN US’…Ephesians 3:20.  Do you really believe that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you?  So tell me, what visions, dreams or imaginations have you had of yourself  but you later thought, “that’s too big for me,  I could never do that?”  Do you know that God’s dreams for you are more substantial than the dreams you have for yourself?   Or could it possibly be that  your dreams are actually from Him.  What would excite you and fulfill you more than anything else?  We all have something bigger than ourselves inside of us that we were created to do.  If we can truly see ourselves as God sees us, nothing will hold us back.  If God be for us, who can be against us?  Let your MINDS EYE see who you really are.  That is the first step to fulfillment, you have to see yourself in that promised land.

As a Life Purpose Coach, I can help you regain your dreams and then help you make a plan to secure them.  And I won’t tell you that they are too big for you.
